Back in the 1980's there was a line of toys called Madballs. They were a series of "gross" balls that were so popular that they spawned a cartoon series, comic book, and even a video game! I had the whole set of them when I was around twelve and regret having gotten rid of them during that phase where I decided collecting toys was uncool. Thankfully, Mondo just announced a new line of "highly detailed vinyl ball figures" featuring three of the most popular characters; Horn Head, Skullface, and Slobulus. These ones look a lot cooler than the originals and I cannot wait to add these to my collection. For more info, check out the Mondo website.

Unboxing February's Loot Crate: Dead
February, the month of candy, hearts, flowers, and LOVE. For normal folk. For Geeks it's also the month that sees the return of The Walking Dead on AMC. Because of that, Loot Crate brings subscriber's "Dead" as this month's theme. It's filled with, of course, some pretty neat swag from The Walking Dead and that "Merc with a Mouth," Deadpool. All in all, this was a fun box that well exceeded its $20 price tag.
First up is a really neat Loot pin featuring a Zombified Loot Crate "in search of its next victim." It's only the second month, but I'm really digging the new style of pins they're putting out this year. They're fun, well designed, and the quality is much nicer than the older ones (which I always gave away). Loot Crate is going to be including a shirt in each box this year and this one was awesome- an exclusive Deadpool "Tacos?!" tee. This is the perfect shirt for Taco Tuesday!
This month's exclusive figure comes from Quantum Mechanix and was a very cool Deadpool Q-Fig. There were two versions- a regular red version and an X-Force variant. Supposedly the red is packed 9:10 and the variant comes 1:10. Lucky lucky me received the rarer X-Force variant. I may have to go to evilBay to score a regular edition (because I NEED both).
Next we get the new Loot Crate magazine. This issue was jam packed with some great articles/features. There was an interview with i-Zombie's Rahul Kohli, a "How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse" guide, a closer look at Deadpool, and a recipe for "Deadpool's Delicious Tacos." It looks like the new year also brought a new Loot Crate magazine, filled with bigger and better content.
Finally, we got a handful of sweet The Walking Dead exclusives. The first was a soap-on-a-rope replica of Daryl's ear necklace. Yeah, you read that right. Awkward, but cool. Next was a TWD "Big Head" build-a-figure blind bag from McFarlane Toys. A cool variant on the regular version sold in stores; I received Rick. Finally was a code to unlock Carl Grimes in The Walking Dead: Road to Survival mobile game, which is apparently a "rare" character and is a $10.00 value.
Inside this month's crate:
- The Walking Dead Carl Grimes DLC (Scopely)
- February 2016 Loot Pin (Loot Crate Labs)
- The Walking Dead Soap-on-a-Rope (A Crowded Coop)
- The Walking Dead Big Head Figure Construction Set (McFarlane Toys)
- Deadpool Tacos T-Shirt (Fifth Sun)
- Deadpool Q-Fig Figure (Quantum Mechanix)

Marvel/Funko Collector Corps Tease Civil War Box
Everyone's over here like, "Batman v Superman!!!" and honestly, I'm way more excited for Stark v Rogers. Being a much bigger Marvel fan than I am of DC, I'm infinitely more excited for the Captain America: Civil War film. So when Marvel and Funko released this teaser for their upcoming Captain America: Civil War box, I may have screamed in excitement. It was a fun little teaser and I gotta admit, I would watch the hell out of a Marvel/Funko animated series. They already have Lego cartoons and films, so why not a Funko one?

Unboxing February's Marvel Collector Corps: Deadpool
Dollar for dollar, I think that Marvel/Funko's Collector Corps is the best subscription box out there. Even better, it's available for the low low price of roughly $31.00 (after shipping). They've consistently given fans some of the most awesome collectibles (that are exclusive!) on the market. Everything from POP! figures and Dorbz, to T-shirts, mugs, and scarves have been included in past boxes. I've been with this box from the beginning and it has been worth every penny.
This month's box is, of course, dedicated to that "Merc with a Mouth," Deadpool. Timed to coincide with the release of Fox's new movie, this box was perfect for Deadpool fans. The box opens up to reveal an awesome Deadpool pin and patch that I'll actually use. Next up was a copy of Deadpool #1 that featured a very funny variant cover. It's an older issue, but if subscribers aren't familiar with the character, it's a nice way for them to get on board.

Captain Coulson Figure
Fun fact: Some Marvel Legends figures have interchangeable heads. Two of those figures with removable heads are Agent Coulson and Captain America. So obviously an Agent Coulson dressed as Captain America had to be made. It's not a stretch to believe that Coulson has a Cap costume in his closet. In fact, I'm pretty sure he's been to a convention or two dressed as the First Avenger.

McFarlane Toys Announces Five Nights at Freddy's Construction Sets
Comic book icon and toy creator Todd McFarlane announced
today that McFarlane Toys has teamed with video game maker Scott Cawthon to
produce a line of highly collectible construction sets based on his runaway
success, Five Night's at Freddy's.
The series has become a verified cultural phenomenon over the last two
years allowing Cawthorn to release three sequels. It's been reported that
there are over 2000 daily installs of the mobile game. In part, a large part of
the game's success was due to influential YouTube stars recording their
terrified reactions while playing the game.
With all four Five Nights at Freddy's games in the series firmly
nestled into the top 100 paid app lists on mobile devices, the franchise has
thus proven its longevity and consumer appeal.
The first wave of McFarlane's upcoming Five Nights at
Freddy's construction sets will depict intricately detailed buildable scenes
at various price points. One of the first Construction Sets from McFarlane Toys
will allow fans to build the iconic "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza" restaurant featured in the first game. The game's
main characters, Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy will all appear as buildable
and collectible mini-figures that straddle the line between adorable and
absolutely horrifying.
"We've struck the perfect balance," said Todd McFarlane, Owner and CEO of McFarlane Toys. "The mini figures for the Five Nights [at Freddy's] sets are equal parts cute and creepy. The Five Nights at Freddy's construction sets will be available at major retail
locations beginning Summer 2016. Fans of
both McFarlane Toys and Five Nights at Freddy's can check www.mcfarlane.com
and the McFarlane Toys social media channels for updates and news. The McFarlane Toys deal was brokered by
Striker Entertainment, the licensing agency for Scottgames.

Lego First Order Stormtrooper Buildable Figure
Back in December, before they were released over here, I ordered the new Rey and First Order Stormtrooper Lego Buildable Figures from the UK. My Google-fu came up short with a release date in the U.S. and I had to have them, so I decided to have them imported. I received them in the mail well over a month ago, but have been too busy to put them together. I was finally able to get a bit of free time, so what better way to spend it then putting this guy together.
I've never put together a Lego buildable figure, which seem to be almost exactly like Lego's Bionicle line. Inside the box were two bags of Lego pieces and an instruction booklet. Luckily, with the detailed and super easy to follow instructions, it was a breeze. You start with the core and build out from there. The finished product looks pretty good and takes roughly half an hour to finish. With five other figures in the Force Awakens line (Kylo Ren, Poe Dameron, Rey, Captain Phasma, and Finn), I'm definitely looking forward to collecting and building them all.
Also available: Kylo, Rey, Phasma, Finn & Poe |

Funko Brings Civil War Home (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)
Funko recently posted glam shots of their upcoming Captain America: Civil War line on the Marvel Collector Corps Blog. The pictures feature figures from their POP!, Dorbz, Mystery Minis, and Mopeez lines. Unfortunately, along with those glam shots came some (possibly) major spoilers. This happens quite a bit with toy lines, t-shirts, books, and other movie related tie-ins. Unfortunately, this time, MCU and Funko fans may have seen a bit more than they may have preferred. If you don't mind possible spoilers, check out the pictures below.
