Rey and BB-8 Sixth Scale Figure Set by Hot Toys up for Pre-order

Hot Toys is a new addiction for me. It started innocently, with a Captain America, and it was all downhill from there. Next was Thor, Iron Man, and Vision should be in my hands in the next couple of weeks. Now, Hot Toys is tempting me with this gorgeous Rey and BB-8, which is now up for pre-order at Sideshow. At $289.99 the price tag is a little steep, but the quality on these figures is second-to-none. Check out Sideshow to pre-order yours now.

via Sideshow:

"Our new heroine Rey is a resilient survivor, a scavenger toughened by a lifetime of dealing with the cutthroats of the harsh desert world of Jakku. We are sure Star Wars fans are anxious to see where the journey will lead for Rey and her newfound droid.

The highly-accurate Rey collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Daisy Ridley in the film featuring a newly developed head sculpt with fine hair sculpture, three interchangeable looks, meticulously tailored outfit, a lightsaber, highly detailed accessories, and a hexagonal figure stand with the Resistance’s emblem.

The highly accurate BB-8 collectible is specially crafted on the image of the uniquely designed droid in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. BB-8 features a newly developed spherical body embedded with self-balancing mechanisms, LED light-up eyes, and a specially designed Jakku desert-themed figure base attachable to Rey’s hexagonal figure stand.

Star Wars fans shouldn’t miss the chance to add the new main characters of the movie to your collection!"

Unboxing January's Star Wars: Smuggler's Bounty Box: Resistance

The second Smuggler's Bounty box arrived on my doorstep a day after I received an e-mail telling me that it had shipped. Talk about light speed! As much as I loved the first one, this box was supposed to be the make-or-break for me. I'm trying to keep my subscription box addiction to a minimum, so I had told myself that if I didn't like this one, I'd suspend my subscription and pick and choose which boxes I ordered depending on the theme. After receiving this box, as much as I dug it, I may pass up the next one.

This month's box came with an exclusive flocked Cewbacca POP! figure and I am in love with it! This is my second flocked POP! after the Hot Topic Simba I received as a gift and I'm really into them. Next up were a very cool BB-8 patch and Poe Dameron pin. I'm definitely going to be using these on something at some point. The box also came with an exclusive POP! tee featuring all your favorite Resistance characters from 'The Force Awakens.' There were three colors (grey, black, and blue), which were sent out at random; I received the black shirt.

The last piece in the box was a C-3PO POP! mug. It comes with a red handle to represent C-3PO's red arm in 'The Force Awakens.' I'm not really a mug person and I got a Starlord one in my last Collector's Corps box, so as neat as it looks, this is probably going to go to someone who'll appreciate it more. It's the first Star Wars item in the Funko Home line and no other products have as yet been announced, so this may be the only Star Wars POP! Home item we get. Overall this was a great box, but I just get too many subscription boxes as it is and I want to try out Funko's upcoming 'Legion of Collectors' DC box (ugh, that name).

Inside this month's box:

- Poe Dameron Pin
- BB-8 Iron-on Patch
- Resistance POP! T-Shirt
- C-3PO POP! Mug
- Flocked Chewbacca POP! Figure

Unboxing December's Geek Fuel

So, I stuck with Geek Fuel for another month because I was curious to see if it got better. Like I said in my previous unboxing, it didn't "wow" me, but neither does Loot Crate 100% of the time. I have to say, I was very glad I stuck with it. When I pulled the box out of my mail box, my first thought was, "What the hell is in here, a brick?" because it was heavier than any other subscription boxes I'd received.

When I opened it up, the first thing I saw was some very cool 8-bit wrapping paper. It features all our favorite Nintendo franchises- Super Mario, Zelda, and Mega Man. Digging further into the box, I had to know what weighed so much! I found that it was a very very cool hardcover Simpsons book, "Bart Simpson's Manual of Mischief." It was one of two possible Simpson's books in this month's box; the other being "Homer Simpson's Little Book of Laziness." Being a long-time Simpson's fan, I was ecstatic to get this book, which retails for more than the price of the Geek Fuel box. That was only topped by the awesome and exclusive 'The Dark Knightmare Before Christmas' T-Shirt.

Also inside the box were TWO downloadable games- 'Devil's Bluff' and '2 Bloo Kid.' Then, to celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we were treated to four Star Wars items! First was a Geek Fuel greeting card featuring R2-D2 and the Geek Fuel Robot, followed by 'Liquid Sabers' candy, a BB-8 eraser, and a Star Wars Death Star mold to use for, "candy, crafts, or cocktails." Some boxes also had Star Wars movie tickets randomly inserted into them (not mine).
