BOOM! Studios Unleashes 'Hellraiser Annual' On Halloween!

Just in time for the scariest day of the year, BOOM! Studios is thrilled to release HELLRAISER 2013 ANNUAL #1, featuring stories by HELLRAISER creator Clive Barker with newcomer Ben Meares and HELLRAISER: THE DARK WATCH co-writer Brandon Seifert. Artists Jesús Hérvás (HELLRAISER) and Janusz Ordon (HELLRAISER) provide the interior artwork, while menton3 (The Memory Collectors) provides the chilling cover, featuring the three characters who have carried the mantle of Pinhead: Elliott Spencer, Kirsty Cotton, and Harry D’Amour.

WHY WE LOVE IT:  A big part of what makes HELLRAISER a horror classic is its expansive world and deep mythology, and annuals give us an opportunity to dive deeper!

WHY YOU WILL LOVE IT: Brandon Seifert created and writes one of our favorite horror procedurals, WITCH DOCTOR, and truly understands what makes the Cenobites tick.

WHAT IT’S ABOUT: In this extra-large special issue, Clive Barker, Brandon Seifert, and Ben Meares go even deeper into the mysteries of Leviathan and the war between Hells. This issue is a key piece of the HELLRAISER: THE DARK WATCH saga, and the effects of these stories will play out in upcoming issues.

HELLRAISER 2013 ANNUAL #1 will arrive in stores on October 30th and carries a retail price of $4.99

BOOM! STUDIOS Reveals Clive Barker's NEXT TESTAMENT In Stores In May

This May, BOOM! Studios is honored to be the home of the first original comic series created and written by Clive Barker himself - CLIVE BARKER'S NEXT TESTAMENT. With interior art by Haemi Jang (HELLRAISER: THE ROAD BELOW) and covers by illustrator Goni Montes, the twelve issue comic event is a bold new exploration of religious themes as only Barker can deliver.

Julian Demond, captain of industry, has left behind everything to begin a walkabout -- he believes he’s on a mission from God. While in the wasteland, he comes across a figure unlike any other, who calls himself Wick...and claims to be God. Their journey will span the globe, as neither man merely wants to make a mark on the world, but a scar. Created by Clive Barker as original comic book concept and co-written by Barker with HELLRAISER writing partner Mark Miller, CLIVE BARKER'S NEXT TESTAMENT marks the first time the master of horror has created and written an original comic book series.

“Next Testament is a project that is near and dear to our hearts. It's a story that has been years in the making and we're thrilled that it's found a home with Boom! Studios," commented Miller, "We promise you something the likes of which you've never seen. Prepare yourselves for a horrific fantasy of Biblical proportions.”

CLIVE BARKER'S NEXT TESTAMENT #1 will arrive in stores on May 29th with a cover by illustrator Goni Montes and carry a retail price of $3.99. The premier issue will also feature a retailer incentive cover by Ben Oliver (BATWING) and an ultra-rare incentive cover painted and signed by Clive Barker himself!

BOOM! Raises Hellraiser: The Dark Watch This February

This February, BOOM! Studios will relaunch the HELLRAISER franchise with HELLRAISER: THE DARK WATCH, an all-new ongoing monthly series. The relaunch of this incredibly popular series will be co-written by creator Clive Barker and Brandon Seifert (WITCH DOCTOR, HELLRAISER: THE ROAD BELOW) and illustrated by newcomer Tom Garcia (HELLRAISER).

NEW ONGOING SERIES! THE NEW ERA OF HELLRAISER BEGINS! As promised, Clive Barker did not only return to the Hellraiser universe, he re-imagined it! Nothing is as simple as it seems – the old ways have been destroyed and a dangerous new world lies in its wake. Where are Elliott Spencer and Kirsty Cotton? Who will rule and who will serve? Rising star Brandon Seifert joins forces with the legendary Clive Barker, with art by Tom Garcia, to begin this amazing new chapter in the history of one of horror’s greatest franchises.

"I grew up with Hellraiser and Clive's novels — so it's a huge, surreal honor to be collaborating with him on The Dark Watch! Under Clive's direction, the Hellraiser ongoing series has gone in some radically different directions over the last two years. I'm really excited for what's next — and even more excited that I get to be involved!," said Brandon Seifert.

HELLRAISER: THE DARK WATCH #1 ships in February with main covers by Tim Bradstreet  (28 DAYS LATER, STAR TREK) and Nick Percival (HELLRAISER, 2000 AD) as well as incentive covers by Frazer Irving (HIGHER EARTH, BATMAN INCORPORATED) and Bradstreet. The first issue is a 32 page, full color issue that retails for $3.99
