Surprising First Look at a Darker Wonderland in ALICE EVER AFTER #1

BOOM! Studios revealed a first look at ALICE EVER AFTER #1, the premiere issue of the new five-issue original series from superstar artist and writer Dan Panosian (An Unkindness of Ravens, Canary), artist Giorgio Spalletta (Red Sonja: Black, White, Red), colorist Fabiana Mascolo, and letterer Jeff Eckleberry, a darkly surreal tale of an adult Alice as she struggles with a choice between facing her trauma in the real world, or escaping to Wonderland... for good. Available in April 2022.

Alice first visited Wonderland as a child. Now grown up, it’s become her only escape from a cold, harsh world that feels even less real—a distant family, a tormented lover, and a father with secrets he'll do anything to protect. But in order to return to her fantasy, Alice will need something much stronger than mushrooms. . .

Cursed with a growing addiction, Alice is forced into the twisted underbelly of London and pulled ever further from reality. Is her obsession with Wonderland truly a respite, or a one-way ticket to the dreaded… ASYLUM?

Witness Wonderland brought to life as never before, set against a vibrant but menacing Victorian London, as figures from Alice's past adventures re-emerge in surprising new ways!

ALICE EVER AFTER #1 features main cover art by Dan Panosian, as well as variant cover art by superstar illustrators Jenny Frison (Something is Killing the Children), and J. Scott Campbell (The Amazing Spider-Man).

Who is THE HIDDEN PLANESWALKER in Brand New Series from BOOM! Studios

BOOM! Studios, under license by Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) and in partnership with Wizards of the Coast LLC, announced MAGIC: THE HIDDEN PLANESWALKER, a brand new four-issue comic book series from comic book and screenwriter Mairghread Scott (Transformers, Guardians of the Galaxy), artist Fabiana Mascolo (Firefly: Brand New ‘Verse) and letterer Ed Dukeshire, about the deadly Liliana Vess and the hidden planeswalker she discovers who will change the fate of the entire multiverse forever, available in April 2022.

While our heroes may have defeated one of the many dangers throughout the multiverse, the powerful Necromancer Liliana Vess is left to return to her new home as a professor at the greatest college of magic in the multiverse. But she doesn’t return alone. Sensing the presence of a distant planeswalker calling for help... one with the power to save or destroy entire planes, puts her on a collision course with the diabolical machinations of Tezzeret, the Master of Metal...

Mairghread Scott is an animation and comic book writer. Her animated work includes Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures, and Star Wars: Resistance. Her comics work ranges from Batgirl to Transformers. She’s also released two original graphic novels, The City on the Other Side and Toil and Trouble. Mairghread lives in southern California with her husband and son.

“I’m thrilled to bring a brand new chapter of Magic comics to life in all its twisted glory with THE HIDDEN PLANESWALKER. Professor Vess is waiting for you, and she doesn’t like to be disappointed,” said Scott.

Fabiana Mascolo is a visual artist based in Rome. She’s been working in the comics industry since 2015, collaborating with companies such as BOOM! Studios, Dark Horse, Èdtions Soleil, Sergio Bonelli Editore and more. Her recent publications include Firefly: Brand New Verse and Yasmeen.

“As a fan of the game, it’s such a pleasure and honour to work on an all-new Magic comic book series! I genuinely cannot wait for the readers to find out more about this story and the mysterious HIDDEN PLANESWALKER,” said Mascolo.

MAGIC: THE HIDDEN PLANESWALKER #1 features main cover art by acclaimed artist Karen S. Darboe (Noir is the New Black) as well as a set of connecting variant cover art by award-winning illustrator Miguel Mercado (Mighty Morphin, Power Rangers), and variant covers by star artists Awanqi (Good Asian), Yanick Paquette (Wonder Woman), and Junggeun Yoon (Spider-Woman).

“Liliana is everything you could want an ageless necromancer to be: tragic, powerful yet wounded, and drop-dead gorgeous. She’s seen more of the multiverse than almost any other Magic character, so she’s an excellent guide for a story that starts with familiar faces and planes, and ends on the other side of new discoveries,” said Kathleen Wisneski, Editor, BOOM! Studios. “Mairghread, Fabiana, and Ed are the perfect team to send Liliana on this journey that will surprise and satisfy the Death Mage’s longtime fans, and no doubt make a bunch of new ones.”

MAGIC is the newest release from BOOM! Studios’ eponymous imprint, home to critically acclaimed original series, including BRZRKR by Keanu Reeves, Matt Kindt, and Ron Garney; We Only Find Them When They’re Dead by Al Ewing and Simone Di Meo; Seven Secrets by Tom Taylor and Daniele Di Nicuolo; Something is Killing the Children by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera; Once & Future by Kieron Gillen and Dan Mora; Faithless by Brian Azzarello and Maria Llovet; Proctor Valley Road by Grant Morrison, Alex Child, and Naomi Franquiz; The Many Deaths of Laila Starr by Ram V and Filipe Andrade; and Eve by Victor LaValle and Jo Mi-Gyeong. Anderson, and Dev Pramanik; and Mighty Morphin and Power Rangers series from Ryan Parrott, Marco Renna, and Francesco Mortarino.
