Resident Evil: Vendetta One Night Event Coming June 19th

Hits U.S. Cinemas June 19 Only
Featuring Exclusive Cast Intro  and Behind-The-Scenes Content

Based on the worldwide video game phenomenon, the CG animated film “RESIDENT EVIL: VENDETTA” will hit movie theaters worldwide this year. The film will be released internationally on May 27, 2017, and in the U.S. and Canada on Monday, June 19 for a special one-night event from Fathom Events, Park Circus and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions.

“RESIDENT EVIL: VENDETTA” is the third installment in the massively popular CG animated film franchise, following “Resident Evil: Degeneration” (2008) and “Resident Evil: Damnation” (2012). Derived from Capcom’s “Resident Evil™,” one of the bestselling video game franchises of all time (72 million + copies sold), “RESIDENT EVIL: VENDETTA” features the fan-favorite characters Leon S. Kennedy (Matt Mercer), Chris Redfield (Kevin Dorman) and Rebecca Chambers (Erin Cahill). The film is produced by Marza Animation Planet (“Space Pirate Captain Harlock”), executive produced by Takashi Shimizu (“The Grudge”), written by Makoto Fukami (“Psycho Pass”) and directed by Takanori Tsujimoto (“Bushido Man”).

Resident Evil: Retribution

The Resident Evil films have been a mixed bag for me. Milla Jovovich is perfectly cast as the heroine of the long-running franchise and Paul W.S. Anderson has done a great job of keeping his vision of the R.E. universe consistent.

The first Resident Evil was awesome and ended on such a great note that my expectations were high for the sequel. Resident Evil: Apocalypse was a bit of a let-down but was still a fun as hell movie. R.E. Extinction was, in my opinion, the worst of the series. Plodding, boring and pretty much uneccesary, it was the worst in the series. In 2010, Jovovich and Anderson (who wrote all the previous films but hadn't directed since the first film) came back with guns blazing (yeah, I went there) in R.E. Afterlife. Later this year, R.E. Retribution will be released and again, expectations are high. The franchise has legs and a fan base that is dedicated enough to keep it profitable. The trailer for the newest film is clever and if it delivers as well as the trailer, I'd be up for a sixth round.

Resident Evil: Afterlife Steelbook

Generally, I'm a Target faithful. However, once I learned that Walmart had an exclusive Blu-ray steelbook version I had to make a special trip. Was it worth it? Heck yeah! And apparently, they have steelbooks for ALL of the Resident Evil films. I'm gonna have to track those bad boys down. Get yours now! It also comes with a $5.00 off coupon towrd one other DVD or Blu-ray like "Easy A" and several other selections.
