In the long awaited continuation of Cursed Pirate Girl, her loyal companion Pepper Dice reveals that there’s still time to bring back her father, the Dread Pirate Captain Douglas! If she can escape the Sea King's Palace with The Bright Star, will she be bold enough to enter The Devil's Cave in the hope of bringing her father back? Or will the Devil Jonah and his minions stop her?

Jeremy Bastian is a comic book creator living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. His book Cursed Pirate Girl has garnered a group of dedicated fans not only in the United States but also internationally. Studios’ Judas series and Labyrinth.

Cursed Pirate Girl, the beloved cult series, launched in 2012 with the story of young Apollonia, daughter of the governor of Port Elizabeth, who meets the enigmatic, no-nonsense Cursed Pirate Girl, a wandering adventurer on a quest to find her lost father, a dreaded pirate captain of the Omerta Seas. Since then, Cursed Pirate Girl’s wild and thrilling adventures have continued in the Cursed Pirate Girl graphic novel and special issue Cursed Pirate Girl 2015 Annual, garnering widespread acclaim for their intricately detailed illustrations evocative of Arthur Rackham and Gustave Dore’s fairy tale depictions.

The Devil Returns in Brian Azzarello and Maria Llovet’s Hit Series FAITHLESS

BOOM! Studios announced that the critically acclaimed team of New York Times bestselling writer Brian Azzarello (Batman: Damned), acclaimed artist Maria Llovet (Luna, Heartbeat), and letterer AndWorld Design will reunite for the third and final act in the world of the sensational erotic series, FAITHLESS, with a brand new six-issue sequel series, as Faith mysteriously reappears on the art scene with a hidden secret that spells disaster and damnation for everyone in this explosive end to the cult hit series.

Nine months after her mysterious disappearance, Faith suddenly drops back onto the map. While the art world debates whether her absence was a masterpiece of performance art or just a publicity stunt, Faith retreats to Louis’s studio to recover from her journey into the unknown. But soon her best friend Ginny begins to realize that something is very much amiss with Faith. Where was she for nine months? And why does Faith suddenly seem so obsessed with Ginny’s son Jacob?

FAITHLESS III #1 features main cover art by series artist Maria Llovet, an incentive variant cover by Jenny Frison (Wonder Woman), and the first in a series of erotic variant connecting covers by acclaimed artist Kris Anka (Spider-Man) that will be polybagged and not publicly previewed due to sexually explicit material. Each erotic variant cover will be limited to its initial print run and will not be reprinted or collected in any subsequent formats. All issues of FAITHLESS III will continue this variant cover program with similar content, limited release, and packaging.

Brian Azzarello is the Harvey and Eisner Award-winning co-creator (with artist Eduardo Risso) of 100 Bullets and Moonshine. The New York Times bestselling author’s work for DC Comics includes the titles Hellblazer, Superman, Joker, Luthor, Before Watchmen, Wonder Woman, and Dark Knight III with Frank Miller. Most recently he and artist Lee Bermejo launched DC’s groundbreaking Mature Readers imprint Black Label with the controversial and critically acclaimed Batman: Damned.

“I can't tell you how happy I am to be working with Maria again, while being all melancholy at the same time,” said Azzarello. “I'm sorry for what we're about to do to you, Faith. This is the end, beautiful friend.”

Maria Llovet is a multidisciplinary artist from Barcelona, who has published four graphic novels, including Heartbeat with BOOM! Studios, There’s Nothing There, and Loud. Luna, an original five-issue series which Llovet created, was published by BOOM! Studios earlier this year. Her illustration has been characterized by a great cinematographic influence in its visual narrative, with sex and death as central themes permeating her work.

“I'm thrilled that we're back with FAITHLESS III, I'm so proud of being part of this already iconic series. Many readers have reached out to me saying they're highly anticipating this final arc. I think they won't be disappointed!” said Llovet.

FAITHLESS III is the newest release from BOOM! Studios’ eponymous imprint, home to critically acclaimed original series, including BRZRKR by Keanu Reeves, Matt Kindt, and Ron Garney;  Something is Killing the Children by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera; Once & Future by Kieron Gillen and Dan Mora; We Only Find Them When They’re Dead by Al Ewing and Simone Di Meo; Seven Secrets by Tom Taylor and Daniele Di Nicuolo; Dark Blood by Latoya Morgan and Moises Hidalgo; Eat the Rich by Sarah Gailey and Pius Bak; Maw by Jude Doyle and A.L Kaplan, and Regarding the Matter of Oswald’s Body by Christopher Cantwell and Luca Casalanguida. The imprint also publishes popular licensed properties, including Dune: House Atreides from Brian Herbert, Kevin J. Anderson, and Dev Pramanik; Mighty Morphin and Power Rangers from Ryan Parrott, Marco Renna, and Francesco Mortarino; and Magic from Jed McKay and Ig Guara.

“Exploring Faith’s descent into a dangerously seductive underworld where magic, sex, and fine art meet has been a wild and gratifying ride,” said Sierra Hahn, Executive Editor, BOOM! Studios. “FAITHLESS III culminates with everything we all set out to do from the start. We’re playing in a world that’s sex positive, passionate, and—like the best of horror—a little dangerous, too. Faith’s self-discovery continues and she will titillate, surprise, and impress readers right up until the very end.”

Print copies of FAITHLESS III will be available for sale in February 2022 at local comic book shops (use comicshoplocator.com to find the nearest one) or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and Kindle.

ANGEL Makes His Hollywood Debut in New Series From BOOM! Studios

BOOM! Studios, in collaboration with 20th Television, is proud to announce ANGEL, a brand new eight-issue comic book series available beginning January 2022. Producer and director of AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire and Eisner Award-nominated writer Christopher Cantwell (Iron Man, The United States of Captain America), artist Daniel Bayliss (WWE The New Day: The Power of Positivity, Labyrinth: Coronation), colorist Patricio Delpeche (Origins), and letterer Becca Carey shine the spotlight on everyone’s favorite vampire with a soul in the role of a lifetime . . . Detective Angel.

Welcome to Detective TV, starring Angel and his co-star—Cordelia! But wait, Angel isn’t just a celebrity? Nope, he leads a double life… as a real monster hunter for Angel Investigations!

Sometimes, though, this double life can get his friends into trouble, and as Wesley recovers from a horrific curse, Angel stumbles into a series of supernatural events which lead to him getting sucked into an unexpected and mysterious world. He soon faces a terrifying enemy, who sees him as a threat...

Christopher Cantwell is the current writer of the ongoing Iron Man series for Marvel Entertainment. His other comics credits include Regarding the Matter of Oswald’s Body with BOOM! Studios, The United States of Captain America and Doctor Doom for Marvel Entertainment, The Blue Flame from Vault Comics, and She Could Fly and Everything for Dark Horse’s Berger Books. Cantwell is also a co-creator, executive producer, and showrunner of AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire and additionally served as an executive producer on the first season of the upcoming TV adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang’s Paper Girls, coming soon to Amazon Prime.

“I love writing character ensemble stories, stories about seemingly random individuals who suddenly find themselves trapped in the orbits of others. ANGEL has one of the best ensembles to ever grace the TV screen, and theirs is a story about a family of choice,” said Cantwell. “When BOOM! approached me, I leaped at the chance to honor and celebrate the original series in a fresh way, pulling on some loose threads and weaving new ones.  It takes all the characters and plays 52 card pick-up with them, reshuffling their roles and identities into a literal alternate universe that LOOKS and FEELS like Angel, but is also something else entirely.”

Daniel Bayliss is a Mexican cartoonist, illustrator and co-creator of Moonhead Press. He has worked on titles such as WWE The New Day: The Power of Positivity, Big Trouble in Little China/Escape from New York, Jim Henson's Labyrinth: Coronation, Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Dragons, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as well as on original series Translucid and Kennel Block Blues for BOOM! Studios. He was nominated for The Russ Manning Award in 2016.

“I love what BOOM! Studios has done with this series and especially what our incredible writer Chris Cantwell is doing with this story! Here you will see all of our favorite characters in a slightly different reality and yet they all maintain their core and humor in a story that is highly entertaining and with unexpected turns,”  said Bayliss. “This has given me the opportunity as an artist to represent great action scenes, creepy creatures and demons, but what I love the most is that Chris also goes a little deeper with the characters and the interactions between them, with more personal situations with which we can relate more closely with the characters. For me, these are the heart and soul of the series, and they have been my favorite scenes when putting ink on the page.”

ANGEL #1 features main cover art by acclaimed illustrator Nimit Malavia (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and variant cover art by fan favorite artists InHyuk Lee (Venom) and Jahoy Lindsay (Hawkeye: Kate Bishop).

“Angel has always been a contradiction of good vs. evil, spotlight vs. shadows, and tortured past vs. redemptive future, which is what makes Chris and Daniel’s take on this version of the iconic vampire so delightful as they imagine a universe where Angel’s identities and worlds collide,” said Sierra Hahn, Executive Editor, BOOM! Studios. “It’s all magical hijinks, mysterious Big Bads, and tons of secrets in this fresh new take on the characters you know and love from ANGEL.”

Angel premiered on the WB Network on October 5th, 1999 and was a spin-off from the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The series ran for five seasons from 1999-2004, starring David Boreanaz as Angel, the tortured vampire destined to walk the earth with a soul who moved to LA to set up shop as a supernatural private investigator. Despite Angel’s best efforts to deal with the sins of his past all by himself, Angel Investigations soon became home to other lost souls searching for redemption and willing to fight by his side.

ANGEL is the newest release from BOOM! Studios’ eponymous imprint, home to critically acclaimed original series, including BRZRKR by Keanu Reeves, Matt Kindt, and Ron Garney;  Something is Killing the Children by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera; Once & Future by Kieron Gillen and Dan Mora; We Only Find Them When They’re Dead by Al Ewing and Simone Di Meo; Seven Secrets by Tom Taylor and Daniele Di Nicuolo; Dark Blood by Latoya Morgan and Moises Hidalgo; Eat the Rich by Sarah Gailey and Pius Bak; and Maw by Jude Doyle and A.L Kaplan.

Print copies of ANGEL #1 will be available for sale in January 2022 exclusively at local comic book shops (use comicshoplocator.com to find the nearest one) or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and Kindle.
