The World at the End of the Rabbit Hole Grows Larger in ALICE NEVER AFTER

Dan Panosian (An Unkindness of Ravens) and Giorgio Spalleta’s (Magic) twisted take on Alice in Wonderland will continue to blur the lines between fantasy and reality this Summer in ALICE NEVER AFTER, only at BOOM! Studios.

Alice finally got her wish. Wonderland has become her new home, but with her abuser’s avatar with the uncanny grin turning the mad residents of a moonstruck world against her, she’s clawing for a little rationality amongst the chaos.

As Alice’s sister, Edith and her childhood friend Earl fight for a way to bring her back, Alice has to contend with whether or not her torment is due to her father, herself, or maybe a curious combination of both…

Dan Panosian is comic book writer and artist for Boom Studios as well as Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, Dynamite and Mad Cave – with a long list of credits ranging from Batman, Spider-Man, X-Men to Slots and Alice Ever After. He’s also the Co-Founder of the Original Drink and Draw Social Club.  You can follow his work on Twitter and Instagram via @UrbanBarbarian

“Following Alice down the rabbit hole is one thing, but getting out is harder than it looks!  Ask Alice - she’s stuck there – PERMANENTLY!  Join Giorgio, Francesco and I on a little trip to Wonderland… Bring some tea, we’ll provide the mushrooms and madness!” said writer Dan Panosian.

Giorgio Spalletta is a cartoonist and illustrator born in 1989. He has collaborated with Editoriale Aurea, Bugs Comics, Sergio Bonelli Editore, Editoriale Cosmo, IDW Publishing as assistant to David Messina, and as an illustrator for Ferrari. Since 2018 he has been a professor at the International School of Comics. He has published for Sergio Bonelli Editore La Divina Congrega series of which he is creating the second volume. In 2022 BOOM! Studios announced his new series Alice Ever After written by international superstar Dan Panosian.

“Dan pushed me back down the rabbit hole! It’s great to get lost in Wonderland again, I think I’ll stay there,” said artist Giorgio Spalleta.

ALICE NEVER AFTER features covers by Dan Panosian, Jenny Frison (Wonder Woman), and InHyuk Lee (Alien).

“I’m so happy Dan and Giorgio wanted to come back to their weird and macabre Wonderland. They’re having a ton of fun with how they’re approaching the story and injecting it with some more thematically heavy elements that build off the first series beautifully. Readers are going to be ecstatically surprised by what madness they have in store,” said supervising editor Bryce Carlson.

The Legend of Dracula is Born

Based on a single chilling chapter from Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula, The Last Voyage of the Demeter tells the terrifying story of the merchant ship Demeter, which was chartered to carry private cargo—fifty unmarked wooden crates—from Carpathia to London.

Strange events befall the doomed crew as they attempt to survive the ocean voyage, stalked each night by a merciless presence onboard the ship. When the Demeter finally arrives off the shores of England, it is a charred, derelict wreck. There is no trace of the crew.

The film stars Corey Hawkins (In the Heights, Straight Outta Compton) as Clemens, a doctor who joins the Demeter crew, Aisling Franciosi (Game of Thrones, The Nightingale) as an unwitting stowaway, Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones, Clash of the Titans) as the ship’s captain and David Dastmalchian (Dune, the Ant-Man franchise) as the Demeter’s first mate.

The film also features Jon Jon Briones (Ratched, American Horror Story), Stefan Kapicic (Deadpool films, Better Call Saul), Nikolai Nikolaeff (Stranger Things, Bruised) and Javier Botet (It films, Mama).

From DreamWorks Pictures and the producers of Zodiac and Black Swan, The Last Voyage of the Demeter is directed by Norwegian horror virtuoso André Øvredal (Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark, Trollhunter), from a script by Bragi F. Schut (Escape Room), Stefan Ruzowitzky (The Counterfeiters) and Zak Olkewicz (the upcoming Bullet Train), based on the chapter “The Captain’s Log” of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

The film is produced by Brad Fischer and by Oscar®-nominated producer Mike Medavoy and Arnold Messer for Phoenix Pictures and is executive produced by Matthew Hirsch.

Heed the Siren’s Call this Summer at BOOM! Studios

Joanne Starer (Painkiller Jane) and Khary Randolph (Excellence) shine a light on body autonomy and consent in their gritty urban fantasy, SIRENS OF THE CITY, at BOOM! Studios July 2023.

New York City. 1980s.

Runaway teen Layla struggles to survive the mean streets, far from home. Meanwhile, every supernatural creature–from sirens to incubi–descend upon the city…all in vying for control of Layla and the child-to-be she never wanted growing inside her.

Joanne Starer has been described as “witty,” “hilarious,” “thoughtful,” and “gassy.” All of these things are true. Leaving behind a career as an accomplished editor, Joanne dove headfirst into writing in 2018. Now she spreads her unique brand of comedy with a conscience across a wide spectrum of themes, including pro-wrestling, the Holocaust, abortion, and modern romance. Her work can be found at most major comic publishers, and occasionally somewhere surprising--like your next visit to the Smithsonian Museum.

"SIRENS OF THE CITY is a story about a girl who has to fight monsters to end a pregnancy she doesn't want. It was supposed to be a metaphor. I guess it's not anymore," said Joanne Starter.

For more than two decades, Khary Randolph has shared his high-energy, award-winning artwork with some of the biggest media companies on the planet, such as Marvel Comics, DC Comics, 20th Century Fox, Netflix, ESPN, Upper Deck, Complex, Samsung, & Sony. His presence has been felt on numerous global brands, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Voltron, Boondocks, and Fortnite. In the last few years, he has shifted his career toward telling more personal stories, first co-creating EXCELLENCE in 2019 and now SIRENS OF THE CITY. Along with his Glass Eye Studios co-founder Joanne Starer, he is helping to produce an exhibit at the Smithsonian that will be debuting in 2023. He’s been to many places, but he’s Boston’s own.

“SIRENS OF THE CITY melds our love of the 80s, music, and fantasy, while still dealing with topics that are grounded and close to home. It’s a dream project to bring to life,” said Khary Randolph.

SIRENS OF THE CITY #1 features covers by series artist Khary Randolph, Jenny Frison (Wonder Woman), Lee Garbett (Firefly), and David Mack (Kabuki).

“Joanne and Khary have created something really special with SIRENS OF THE CITY. It's 80s punk, yet modern. It's political, yet fantastical. It’s inhuman, yet the most human story you’ll read this year. Do not miss this series.” said series editor Dafna Pleban.

SIRENS OF THE CITY is the newest release from BOOM! Studios’ eponymous imprint, home to critically acclaimed original series, including BRZRKR by Keanu Reeves, Matt Kindt, and Ron Garney; Something is Killing the Children by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera; Once & Future by Kieron Gillen and Dan Mora; Eve by Victor LaValle and Jo Mi-Gyeong; The Many Deaths of Laila Starr by Ram V and Filipe Andrade; Wynd by James Tynion IV and Michael Dialynas; Grim by Stephanie Phillips and Flaviano; Briar by Christopher Cantwell and Germán García; Stuff of Nightmares by R.L. Stine and A.L. Kaplan; The Approach by Jeremy Haun, Jason A. Trolls Band Together - Trailer

After two films of true friendship and relentless flirting, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) are now officially, finally, a couple (#broppy)! As they grow closer, Poppy discovers that Branch has a secret past. He was once part of her favorite boyband phenomenon, BroZone, with his four brothers: Floyd (Golden Globe nominated electropop sensation Troye Sivan), John Dory (Eric André; Sing 2), Spruce (Grammy winner Daveed Diggs; Hamilton) and Clay (Grammy winner Kid Cudi; Don’t Look Up). BroZone disbanded when Branch was still a baby, as did the family, and Branch hasn’t seen his brothers since.

But when Branch’s bro Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talents by a pair of nefarious pop-star villains—Velvet (Emmy winner Amy Schumer; Trainwreck) and Veneer (Grammy winner and Tony nominee Andrew Rannells; The Book of Mormon)—Branch and Poppy embark on a harrowing and emotional journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd from a fate even worse than pop-culture obscurity.

Featuring Trolls’ signature psychedelic joy-bomb of new and classic pop hits, Trolls Band Together stars a dazzling cast of musical superstars and comedic powerhouses as new franchise characters, including four-time Grammy nominee and Latin Grammy winner Camila Cabello (Cinderella) as Viva; Zosia Mamet (The Flight Attendant) as Crimp; and 12-time Emmy winning drag icon RuPaul Charles as Miss Maxine.

The returning cast includes Grammy, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Zooey Deschanel as Bridget; Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Gristle, the Icona Pop duo Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt as Satin and Chenille, Grammy winner Anderson .Paak as Prince D, comedian Ron Funches as Cooper, SAG nominee Kunal Nayyar as Guy Diamond and Emmy winning Saturday Night Live legend Kenan Thompson as Tiny Diamond.

Trolls Band Together is steered by returning director Walt Dohrn and producer Gina Shay, and is co-directed by Tim Heitz (head of story, Trolls World Tour). DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls films—2016’s Trolls and 2020’s Trolls World Tour—have sung and danced their way to record-breaking success, earning an Oscar® nomination for Best Original Song and fueling one of the largest and most beloved entertainment brands in the world.

BOOM! Studios’ POWER RANGERS: 30th Anniversary Comic Book Celebration Campaign Nears a Half Million, Amy Jo Johnson Writes New POWER RANGERS Story

BOOM! Studios’ newest BOOM! Direct Reserve campaign, POWER RANGERS: A 30th Anniversary Comic Book Celebration, has sped past the $250,000 Stretch Goal mark in less than 24 hours unlocking a new series announcement. BOOM! Studios is thrilled to announce that original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers cast member Amy Jo Johnson, along with director Matt Hotson are writing a brand new Power Rangers series!

Details on the hotly anticipated series are being kept under wraps for the time being, but more information will be made available later this year.

Amy Jo Johnson began her acting career as Kimberly Hart, the original Pink Power Ranger. For the next twenty years, she starred in a number of film and television productions, such as Susie Q, Perfect Body, Felicity, and Flashpoint. For the last ten years, she has turned her attention to behind the camera, writing and directing four short films, two feature films, and made her foray into TV directing on the CW's Superman and Lois.  Amy Jo is incredibly excited to reflect back on her time as a Ranger, and this comic book series will be a love letter to her fans and the franchise that gave her her start.

“It’s been decades since I first put on the Pink Ranger suit, which started my career in the entertainment industry. I had no idea the impact this character would have on so many children. I was your friend, and you’ve supported my career through all its twists and turns, and now thirty years later, I’m honoured to have the opportunity to say thank you by writing this new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book series with Boom! Studios as a love letter to all of you!” said actor, director, and forever our Pink Ranger, Amy Jo Johnson.

When Matt Hotson saw his first comic book (G.I. Joe Special Missions #22) at the impressionable young age of four, he was blown away that someone had made a Saturday morning kids show he could take with him wherever he went. Since then, he’s read way too many comics, and worked as an assistant director on TV shows like DC’s Titans (and a bunch of other ones that didn’t have any superheroes in them for some reason). Now he co-writes Power Rangers comic books with Amy Jo Johnson, so he can take a Saturday morning kids show with him wherever he goes.

BOOM! Studios’ POWER RANGERS 30 campaign offers fans the opportunity to complete their collections with three brand new, exclusive Deluxe Hardcovers spanning the first three decades of Power Rangers storytelling in comics–Power Rangers Archives Book One, Power Rangers Archives Book Two, and Power Rangers Lost Chronicles Book One. All three Deluxe Hardcovers are available individually or as a set, with or without slipcases, and in unsigned and signed limited edition sets packaged in an exclusive collectible box.

In addition to all of that, BOOM! Studios is beyond thrilled to offer a variety of new commemorative comic books and merchandise for POWER RANGERS 30, including an exclusive POWER RANGERS 30 ANGEL GROVE LETTERMAN JACKET and much, much more!

“There was never a universe in which BOOM! celebrated the monumental 30th anniversary of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers without Amy Jo Johnson. She has proven herself again and again as a strong storyteller with a compelling voice, and getting to bring her and Matt in to tell a new Power Rangers story is a full circle moment for all of us here at BOOM! Studios.” said Dafna Pleban, Power Rangers series editor.

POWER RANGERS: A 30th Anniversary Comic Book Celebration BOOM! Direct Reserve Campaign will continue for 29 days, with special surprises and hidden stretch goals to be announced all month long.
