Hulu is currently streaming Tiger & Bunny, a new anime from Sunrise, director Keiichi Satou and writer Masafumi Nishida. The series takes place in Sternbild City, a sort of re-imagined New York. Certain individuals suddenly gain superpowers and are recognized as "NEXT." These NEXT become superheroes that are sponsored by real-life corporations. Their exploits are aired on live television where the heroes gain and lose points based on the crimes they stop or people they save. At the end of the season the hero with the most points is crowned the "King of Heroes."
The main characters are veteran hero Kotetsu (Tiger) and rookie hero Barnaby (Bunny). The mismatched pair are forced by their corporate sponsor to work together as the city's first superhero team. The fellow NEXT competing for the "King of Heroes" title are Blue Rose, Sky High, Fire Emblem, Dragon Kid, Rock Bison and Origami Cyclone. Ultimately, the heroes must face an evil NEXT named "Lunatic" who causes the city to question the worth of heroes.
I researched it at Wiki and it said that it started last April 3, 2011. I am wondering why it doesn't seem popular. Better check some episodes and check why.
