EMISSARIES: GALACTICON III- May 23-26, 2013

The time is fast approaching when celebrities from the very popular television franchise Battlestar Galactica and fans alike will be celebrating together for 4 days at the George R. Brown Convention Center May 23rd through May 26th, 2013. The host hotel is the Hilton America which adjoins the center. Organized every 5 years since 1993, Galacticon III marks the original show’s 35th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of Ronald D. Moore’s re-imagined series, making it a very special celebration. This year, the convention is being held in conjunction with the popular ComicPalooza and has more celebs gathered in one place than ever before from both the original and the re-imagined series. Galacticon is licensed by NBC-Universal, and we couldn’t be prouder.
Galacticon III will feature autograph sessions, panels with actors, writers, producers, special effects experts, costumers, jewelry makers and others involved in both shows, celebrity photos, screenings of Battlestar Galactica original series, re-imagined series and Caprica, special parties and activities such as a trip to the Johnson Space Center and much, much more. Many fans from across the globe have already registered their membership since this is something every Battlestar Galactica fan won’t want to miss!

Fans will join more actors from both series than any other BSG convention before. From the original 1978 series: Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict, Herbert Jefferson, Terry Carter, Anne Lockhart, Jack Stauffer and Noah Hathaway as well as Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Michael Hogan, Michael Trucco, Kate Vernon, Nicki Clyne, Leah Cairns, Rekha Sharma, Luciana Carro and Tahmoh Penikett from the re-imagined series as well as Alessandra Torresani and Esai Morales from Caprica. There will be a special NASA panel headed by Holly Vavrin and JPL/NASA rocket scientist, Kevin Grazier, panels by designer Andy Probert and Special Effects panels as CGI experts Lee Stringer and Adam ‘Mojo’ Lebowitz join us as well. We will have some tributes to some important people – and we even have a tribute panel for our Star Trek fans.

This year, Galacticon III will be held in conjunction with the very popular ComicPalooza, which is organized by Startling Events, LLC and has been a yearly staple for the Houston area since it began in 2008 – but the first time either has done a joint venture of this magnitude.

Fans can obtain more information and register their membership for Galacticon III on the website: www.galacticon3.com. Gold memberships are sold out – but Silver memberships and day passes are still available online until Monday, May 20th and then can be purchased at the door!
