Walker Stalker Con hit the Bay Area last weekend at the Fort
Mason Center in San Francisco. The convention “is the fruit of The Walker
Stalkers Podcast with James & Eric. The podcast began with an amazing trip
to Senoia, GA where James & Eric were able to view the set of The Walking
Dead and meet the incredible actors from the show. As a result of this
experience, a podcast began and then the idea of a convention focused around
recreating that same experience with the cast and crew of the show, along with
talented actors and artists from other zombie shows, movies and art.” Walker
Stalker Con also has conventions in Dallas, Boston, Atlanta, New York/New
Jersey, Chicago, and Orlando.
Among the many Walking Dead cast members that were in
attendance this year were David Morrissey (The Governor), John Bernthal (Shane),
Steven Yeun (Glenn), Scott Wilson (Hershel), and Michael Rooker (Merle). Also
in attendance was Emily Kinney (Beth) who performed a concert on Saturday
night. Even though the convention is aimed at Walking Dead fans, it wasn’t only
that show’s cast members that were there. Also in attendance were Robert
Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street), Ian McNeice (Doctor Who), Mackenzie Lintz
(Under the Dome), and Ming Chen (Comic Book Men).
This year’s convention also featured a special “Night of the
Doctor” panel that brought Doctor Who’s Matt Smith (11th Doctor),
Karen Gillan (Amy Pond), and Arthur Darvill (Rory) back together to
answer fan questions. It was an hour long panel that saw the actor’s
reminiscing about filming the show, singing Bohemian Rhapsody, and doing their
best zombie impressions. Check out the video from user Neda16 via YouTube:
